Eventful Hair

Long or short, the fact is, it’s time to play with your hair, and we mean PLAY! By adding curls, teasing your strands silly, sporting a festive hat or adding a glittering accessory, a special occasion is an invitation to let your imagination go wild.

Anja: Gentle Curls

Stylist Salvador Calvano wanted to complement Anja’s romantic makeup look with some soft curls. Using a large curling iron, he shaped small groups of her hair into 1-inch round curls and secured them with a hair clip. After letting the curls set and removing the clips, Calvano teased the top section of Anja’s hair and secured it in the back with a clip. For a more sophisticated look, he tucked the back curls into an up do.

For a bit of fun and daring, Calvano placed a feathered headband on Anja’s teased locks.
Headband: Patricia Underwood.

Stacy: Sexy and Sleek

Stacy’s long hair made such a statement by itself, Calvano chose to make it super sleek and straight to emphasize her gorgeous featuresUsing a brush followed closely by a hair iron, Calvano straightened groups of Stacy’s hair.

Wearing her hair down, the results were elegant.

Michelle: Romantic Ringlets

Michelle’s thick red hair was in need of a trim when she came into the studio. Calvano cleaned up the ends so that her hair would take well to tight curls – the style he envisioned for her holiday look.

After the trim, Calvano used a small-sized curling iron to wind Michelle’s strands into tight curls.

After holding the hair in the iron for several seconds, Calvano gently unraveled the strands being sure not to pull too hard at the curl.

Next, he wound the curl back and secured it with a hair clip.

After her makeup was completed, Calvano carefully removed the hair clips and spritzed Michelle’s newly curly mane with maximum-hold hair spray. The result was a super-feminine head of soft ringlets.

Celebrity stylist Kevin Murphy assures us that Sarah’s lovely look is not as unattainable as it seems. If you have chin length to long hair, with at least a little natural wave, then follow these simple steps for a great look for night time or anytime.

STEP 1 The first step of this look begins with dividing the hair into quarters, top, sides and back. Your hair should be damp. The top section is created by making two parts on either side of the head, about three inches apart. You will be left with a section of hair running down the middle of your head. Secure this top section of hair with a duckbill clip. Then using additional clips secure the sides and the back of the hair, so that it is now divided into four fairly even sections.
