Fall clothing fashions are making their appearance in the stores and soon will be in our closets. The style conscious, look forward to the change in clothing styles. Did you know that for a total look you must also alter the mood of your hair color?
Hair color this year will be unmistakable. There is no place for feeble, undecided color in fall and winter. The colors and textures of this year’s clothing will require hair colors that include rich browns, vibrant reds, golds and blonds with depth.
Create luxuriant browns by adding red, copper or golden highlights or a combination of these. Deepen the color without it becoming harsh by low lighting with a tint one or two shades darker than your natural color.
Are you already a redhead? Try adding golden highlights to darker hair or deep auburn low lights to lighter hair. Add both light and dark to add texture while maintaining the same depth of color.
With summer sun or time, blond can become overly lightened and faded. Bring it back to life by low lighting with golden tones or medium and dark blond shades to give depth and texture.
Highlights and low-lights are added with various methods. Your stylist may use a special cap to pull hair out through tiny holes. This is the oldest and most common method. Another way, and my personal choice, is color placement by weaving fine sections of hair using foil, plastic wrap or specially created tools to separate tinted hair from the hair that is not to be tinted. Two or three closely related shades can be used for a naturally shimmering effect.
Your over-all color can be enhanced without making a commitment to upkeep by using hair color glossers. Try a true red glosser over dark hair to produce an exciting red glow. Warm up blond with light gold or beige glosser. They impart a transparent color while adding a tremendous amount of shine. Color glossers will fade away in approximately six weeks.
Take a look at the deep rich colors and textures of this fall and while your clothing style is making the transition into a new season, achieve a pulled-together, total look by remembering to bring your hair color into the season.
