Aveda’s Full Specturm Hair Colour is 97 % chemical-free
Last year, when Aveda launched Enlightenment Blonding-a 97% botanical-based lightening system-the company promised an even bigger breakthrough in permanent hair color. After years of germination, that innovation has finally sprouted.
Formulated with patent-pending plant technology, Full Spectrum Hair Color features a development process that partially replaces or modifies synthetic couplers with essential oils and plant extracts, to protect and condition the hair during processing. None of the colours contain nitro dyes.
“Nitro dyes are pre-developed and simply sit on the surface of the cuticle, making it more difficult for them to penetrate the hair for lasting color,” explains Mina Volpe, director of marketing and communications for Collega for Aveda, based in Scarborough, Ontario. “Full Spectrum uses only oxidative colors that develop inside the hair’s cortex to lock color in.”
Available in 19 shades.
